Pregnancy-Associated Plasma Protein-A: Its Significance as a Single Biomarker for Adverse Obstetric Outcomes
نویسندگان
چکیده
OBJECTIVES: Low levels of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A in pregnant women linked to unhealthy placentation and a spectrum maternal fetal complications. Its assessment as single biomarker has the potential identify high-risk pregnancies. This prospective observational study was conducted find correlation between low first trimester pregnancy with various obstetric outcomes establish if it can be used for counseling couples. STUDY DESIGN: The at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. Maternal serum were assessed 11 13+6 weeks gestation, converted multiples median patients followed till delivery. recorded terms abortions, development gestational hypertension, diabetes, preeclampsia, placental abruption, growth restriction, demise, neonatal intensive care unit admission, etc., analyzed an association protein-A. RESULTS: showed statistically significant abortion, also adverse like APGAR <5 1 min, perinatal deaths. No observed preterm delivery, abruption. CONCLUSION: Serum have being utilized validated marker outcomes. Early identification such pregnancies help optimizing feto-maternal through closer surveillance, timely intervention, referral tertiary centers. Further research would fraternity developing prediction model.

Background: To evaluate the association of increased fetal nuchal translucency( NT) and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Materials and Methods: In a prospective study, 2221 women who were conceived after Assisted Conception were investigated by sonography independent of multiplicity between 11 and 13 weeks' gestation. We performed 2899 NT examinations during the study period(21 March 2010 to 21...
متن کاملKlotho Protein,A Biomarker for AKI
Klotho is an anti-aging single-pass membrane protein that is mainly produced in the kidney. The level of soluble klotho decreases with age and the klotho gene is associated with an increased risk of age-related diseases, such as diabetes, skin atrophy, chronic kidney disease, ataxia and cancer. The klotho gene is composed of five exons and encodes a membrane glycoprotein located in the plasma ...
متن کاملRadioimmunoassay for pregnancy-associated plasma protein A.
A specific and highly sensitive radioimmunoassay for determination of pregnancy-associated plasma protein A in human serum is described. The minimum detection limit for this protein was 2.9 micrograms/L. The within- and between-assay coefficients of variation were 4.0 and 4.5%, respectively. The circulating protein was detected within 32 days of conception in eight normal pregnancies and within...
متن کاملLeukocyte Counts, Myeloperoxidase, and Pregnancy-Associated Plasma Protein A as Biomarkers for Cardiovascular Disease: Towards a Multi-Biomarker Approach
We evaluated leukocyte counts and levels of CRP, fibrinogen, MPO, and PAPP-A in patients with stable and unstable angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, and healthy controls. All biomarkers were analyzed again after 6 months. Leukocyte counts and concentrations of fibrinogen, CRP, MPO, and PAPP-A were significantly increased in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Leukocyte counts ...
متن کاملMaternal Periodontitis, Preeclampsia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
Background and Aim: Preeclampsia is a considerable problem of pregnancy. Endothelial dysfunction and placental hypoxia are the current hypothesis of preeclampsia. Chronic inflammation, including periodontitis may provoke systemic maternal and placental pro-inflammatory endothelial dysfunction, which represent a significant risk factor for diseases of vascular origin. So this study was carried o...
